Volunteering is critical for the art league.  Please consider joining one of our committees.  Active committee members are eligible for a discount on memberships.

Building and Grounds - Buildings and Grounds: Include “Studio Crew”- this consists of scrubbing studio tables down with Ajax, vacuuming studio floor, dusting, taking out all studio trash. Committee chairman; Buildings and Grounds.

Diversity - The Inclusion, Diversity and Outreach Taskforce works to strengthen community relationships, broaden equal opportunities and fight prejudice. Our work includes: (1) working with guest artists of diverse backgrounds (2) increasing diversity among our staff and membership and (3) reaching out to underserved communities. When the committee invites a guest artist to have a show at the LGAL gallery, the committee works with diversity artist to implement exhibit. This includes publicity, hanging the work, and hospitality if artist elects to have a reception. Committee Chairman: Margaret Prescott.

Finance - Committee Chairman: Treasurer

Work with treasurer to keep league books – can include: filing bills, maintaining Quickbooks registers, organizing documents /preparing payments for taxes, insurance policies, business licenses.

Fundraising - Identify and execute opportunities to raise funds for the league. This could include applying for grants, helping with art sales ( ex. Artrageous, courtyard sales, estate sales), donation drives, fundraising events, etc.

Gallery Installation and Window -Due to Covid19 concerns, these committees are temporarily suspended and the responsibility for hanging the monthly shows and arranging the window will be the Gallery Manager. Once the pandemic is over, these committees will be reinstated.

Holiday Boutique - Coordinate and set up holiday boutique for November/December. Positions on this committee include vendor coordinator, window, boutique installation, and party coordinator.

Judges - Find judges for judged shows at LGAL (January, March, July, September, November).  Meet with judge day show is to be adjudicated and go over rules. Make sure judge is paid.Committee Chairman: Gailene Cowger

Membership - work to increase membership and member engagement, help to maintain this membership website

Middle School Show - Send our electronically or deliver in person application forms for the show to 12 local junior high and middle schools. Collect artwork staring end of September, hang show second week of October, find judge for show, purchase prizes for winners as well as teacher thank-you gifts, write thank you notes to teachers, coordinate reception, hand out student prizes, deliver uncollected artwork and/or teacher thank you gifts to schools. Publicity - Graphic Designer-help design LGAL ads and social media posts

Newsletter- Put out an electronic newsletter for LGAL members. This job can be done all at home and is done via Wild Apricot with a newsletter template they follow. No special software required, but a good internet connection is recommended.

Special Exhibits: Coordinates artist exhibition schedules at other venues, find new venues to show LGAL member work, (Lyn Tietz banks, Carol Cech, library)

Special Gallery Exhibit - (NEW):works with committee chairman on putting together national, juried shows or special indoor or outdoor exhibits.

Substitute Sales Associate (NEW): Able to substitute for gallery staff. Must be personable, greet and engage guests when they walk in the door, talk about our art, mission and merchandise. Must be trained on register, taking framing orders and opening/closing procedures. Have a flexible schedule in case of last minute staffing needs due to sickness or vacation. Community Engagement (NEW): Bring LGAL artists together to talk about (or make) art through book club discussion, salon night, member demo webinars, plein air painting group, sketch club group, open studio monitor.

Hospitality- (NEW): Bring food or arrange for food donations to and attend for one hour LGAL artist receptions and holiday party. Your name will be on a call list and you will be notified of events for each month. Social Committee Chairman will take on duties associated with an Event Planner.

Starts with Art/Scholarships - manage the funds donated to program for children's/high school scholarships and education

Scholarships: Committee selects high school scholarship winners for college and summer school. Selects student artwork for LGBA show. Coordinates with Starts with Art, volunteers time to help Starts with Art programming. Committee Chairman:  Margaret Prescott

    Tech Support: Help maintain gallery and studio online services, help instructors interface with computers, monitors, and internet.

    E-Historian: Scan and convert LGAL historical documents to electronic format which can be stored on the Cloud. This can be done from home
